A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

- Part-Time at Wright Elementary School Reports to:
Principal Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Ability to work with limited amount of direct supervision Ability to organize time and establish work priorities
Performance Responsibilities:
Perform all activities that are custodial in nature and deemed appropriate by Administration. Understand and follow safety procedures as provided by the district. Keep buildings and grounds neat and clean at all times. Clean and maintain all workspaces and equipment. Assist in building and grounds security by locking all doors and gates after use and at end of work day. Perform routine maintenance and repairs of building, equipment and grounds. Maintain all bathroom facilities in clean and working order. Clean cafeteria area after breakfast/lunch and remove trash to outside dumpsters. Efficiently and sanitarily clean up after student accidents or illness. Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
Physical Demands:
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. May sometimes push/pull items such as tables and bleachers. Must frequently squat, stoop, kneel and reach Terms of Employment 200 days per year Part-Time position, 5 hours per day Not Eligible for state benefits Salary pursuant to the district salary schedule Custodians are not eligible for vacation time until 30 workdays have been completed.
