A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

JOB TITLE

Machine Cleaner

REPORTS TO

Engineer and/or

Maintenance Manager PURPOSE:

To safely and efficiently perform general and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems throughout the location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in the plant safety process

Lock Out/Tag equipment being worked on

Understand Mechanical systems.

Understand pneumatics and hydraulic systems

Use of hand and power tools safely

Maintain documents on various systems

Perform, document, and keep up with Preventive Maintenance on equipment.

Maintain and order spare parts as needed.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work safely

Ability to read and write and follow directions

Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions

Ability to understand and use test equipment

Ability to lock out and tag out equipment

Ability to perform a PM on equipment and document properly.

Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.

Ability to properly document maintenance performed.

Basic computing skills including opening files, closing files, manipulating windows.

Good communication skills

MACHINES, TOOLS, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT

Production Equipment, Hand and power tools, Shop equipment, Fork lift (as needed), Aerial Lift (as needed), Hoists, Ladders, Oils and Lubricants, Various materials, fire Extinguisher.

Standing:

Ability to stand while working on various pieces of equipment. 90% of day Moving Move freely throughout the location. 100% of day

Lifting:

Lifting a max weight of 40#(Men) or 25#(Men) 20% of day Push Pushing shop carts, tool boxes, and equipment being repaired. 15% of day

Reach:

Ability to reach over equipment and for tools being used. 70% of day

Bending:

Ability to pick up objects from the floor. Ability to bend while working on equipment. Ability to get under machinery. 50% of day Access The ability to use all types of ladders. 30% of day Walking Ability to walk through the plant to get to work area, meeting rooms, break area, and to perform job requirements. 50% of day

Visual Acuity:

Ability to see fine print instructions. Perform thorough visual inspection of equipment. Read and understand written and computer screens, instructions and specifications. 90% of day

Environment:

Ability to work around various materials. 100% of day

Ability to work in manufacturing environment around powered material handling vehicles and moving mechanical parts. 100% of day
