Alcoa Elementary School Custodian (Part-time) Reports to:

Principal/Head Custodian Summary:

Responsible for all general custodial duties including but not limited to: keeping building clean, ensuring building stays in good repair, and securing building at all times.

High school diploma or equivalent

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• General cleaning of facilities
• Report any malfunction of heating and cooling, plumbing or other mechanical malfunctions to Head Custodian or Principal
• Check all doors for security prior to arming and leaving building
• Respond to teacher requests when possible
• Establish and maintain favorable relationships with all employees of the Alcoa City School
• System by presenting a positive and professional attitude at all times
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by Principal and Director of Schools
• Ability to operate equipment that is related to the job,
• Show a sincere concern and interest and exhibit pride in performing tasks associated with this position,
• Able to physically and mentally perform the tasks assigned,
• Ability to maintain a pleasant attitude,
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in the building,
• Ability to work under pressure to meet the demands of the job

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must pass Functional Capacity Screening Administered by Blount Memorial Hospital and paid for by Alcoa City Schools ○ Reaching, Kneeling ○ Standing, Walking, and Sitting Tolerance ○ Occasional and Frequent Lifting- Floor to Waist ○ Lateral Lifting ○ Push/Pull ○

Carrying NOTE:

This position is a district-wide position with a current assignment at AES. Applicants may be asked to serve in any grade K-12
