What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Two positions are available. Shift 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Shift 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible for cleaning facilities to the specifications of the customer.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors; clean and restock bathrooms; and clean windows. Prepare appropriate cleaning solutions according to proper procedures. Empty trash containers and replace trash bags. Discard trash in appropriate location. Clean restrooms following appropriate procedures. Adherence to OSHA standards in relation to the proper use of chemicals and equipment involved in the day-to-day completion of custodial cleaning tasks. Ensure all operations are performed in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Comply with all department and company policies, procedures, and regulations. Adhere to safety and loss prevention procedures to prevent injury to personnel and damage to property, equipment and inventory. Monitor inventory and relaying to management the materials and supplies necessary for fulfilling custodial cleaning and maintenance where applicable. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Basic knowledge of acceptable cleaning standards related to the cleaning and maintenance of facilities. Ability to operate custodial/janitorial equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners, floor strippers and other applicable cleaning equipment to maintain the cleanliness of the facility in which they work. Able to meet all required security clearances for Goodwill and customers. Able to work with cleaning solutions Ability to read, write and communicate effectively

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
Able to work in hot/cold, humid and/or dusty environment Able to bend, push, reach and stand for long periods of time Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
