The Urgent Care Cleaning Technician ensures Vital Med's clinical environment remains safe, sanitary, and welcoming for patients and staff. This role is responsible for maintaining exam rooms, common areas, restrooms, and operational spaces in accordance with infection‑control, OSHA, and clinic cleanliness standards. The Cleaning Technician supports daily operations by performing routine and deep‑cleaning tasks, restocking essential supplies, and responding quickly to cleaning needs throughout the day to uphold Vital Med's patient‑experience expectations. This position requires evening, weekend and holiday availability, as well as, flexibility with location/travel. Primary Job Duties Clinical & Facility Sanitation Clean and disinfect exam rooms, procedure rooms, triage areas, and nursing stations. Sanitize high‑touch surfaces including counters, doorknobs, chairs, and equipment surfaces. Sweep, mop, and disinfect floors, hallways, and common areas. Clean and maintain restrooms, ensuring supplies are stocked at all times. Maintain cleanliness of lobby, waiting areas, and staff break rooms. Clean windows, glass doors, and visible surfaces throughout the clinic. Infection Control & Safety Follow all infection‑control procedures, including proper use of disinfectants. Handle biohazard waste safely and in compliance with OSHA and clinic guidelines. Empty trash and biohazard containers regularly and safely. Maintain proper storage and labeling of cleaning chemicals. Report spills, hazards, or maintenance issues immediately to the Clinic Manager. Operational Support Restock exam room supplies such as gloves, wipes, table paper, and sanitizer. Maintain cleaning carts, supplies, and equipment in working condition. Communicate supply needs to management to prevent shortages. Support special cleaning tasks such as deep cleaning, equipment wipe‑downs, or post‑procedure sanitation. Facility Readiness Ensure the clinic is clean, orderly, and presentable at all times. Maintain standards for facility appearance, professionalism, and patient experience. Support a positive work environment and uphold Vital Med's service culture. Job Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Prior janitorial, housekeeping, custodial, or environmental services experience with basic familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods. Detail‑oriented with strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed. Preferred Experience in a medical, clinical, or healthcare environment. Familiarity with infection‑control standards and OSHA guidelines. Bilingual (English/Spanish). Essential Job Functions Perform repetitive cleaning tasks with accuracy and speed. Safely use cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and PPE. Follow OSHA, CDC, and clinic sanitation standards. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in patient-care areas. Communicate effectively with staff regarding room readiness or cleaning needs. Uphold Vital Med's standards for cleanliness, presentation, and patient experience. Frequently moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Adjusting or moving objects up to 10-15 pounds in all directions; occasionally up to 30 pounds. Communicating with others to exchange information.
