StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a full-time Environmental Service Worker to join its outstanding Plant Operations team. The Environmental Service Worker performs moderately complex, journey-level custodial work involving the cleaning, maintenance, and care of StarCare facilities, grounds, and related equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment by performing general custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, carpet care, and cleaning windows, restrooms, light fixtures, and other building surfaces. Maintains custodial equipment, monitors inventory levels, requests supplies as needed, and performs minor equipment maintenance and repairs. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for independent judgment and initiative in completing assigned duties. Effectively communicates with supervisors and coworkers, completes all required documentation accurately and within established timeframes, complies with all applicable policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
Clean, sanitize, and disinfect assigned areas, including restrooms, offices, common areas, and other facility spaces, utilizing approved cleaning products and safety procedures. Perform routine custodial duties such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window cleaning, and trash removal to maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment. Clean and maintain office furniture, walls, floors, windows, fixtures, and other interior surfaces. Move furniture, equipment, and other items as needed to ensure thorough cleaning and facility maintenance. Operate and maintain custodial equipment, including floor buffers, strippers, vacuums, carpet extractors, and related cleaning machinery. Monitor inventory levels and restock custodial supplies, including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other consumable items. Perform minor maintenance and routine repairs on custodial equipment to ensure proper functionality and minimize operational disruptions. Assist with inspections of buildings and facilities to evaluate cleanliness, identify maintenance needs, and report repair issues to appropriate personnel. Support the maintenance of inventory records for building assets, custodial supplies, tools, equipment, and maintenance materials. Adhere to all applicable safety standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while performing assigned duties. Collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient facility operations and timely completion of assigned tasks. Maintain regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours. Ensure all required training and credentials are current and compliant with Center, federal, state, and local regulations, in addition to StarCare policies and procedures. Complete special departmental projects and other responsibilities with similar skill and work conditions as assigned. Schedule:
This is a full-time, on-site position scheduled Monday through Friday. Available shifts may include 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Candidates must be flexible and able to adjust schedules based on departmental needs.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance experience preferred. Knowledge of cleaning methods, custodial equipment, and safety practices preferred. Ability to perform physical job duties and work independently. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and communication skills. Must have a current Texas driver's license and be insurable under the Center's insurance. Must pass all required pre-employment and annual screenings applicable to the position or services provided, as required by law, regulation, or agency policy, which may include criminal background, nursing registry, MVR, and drug screening based on applicable requirements.
