A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

  • Wednesday- Saturday 5am-3:30pm

Job Responsibilities:
  • Proficient in mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and vacuuming surfaces
  • Empties trash bins and cleans trash area daily; operates trash compactor when applicable
  • Pulls pallets and clean/scrubs product bays on a rotating basis
  • Clean up any spills or breakages to the inventoried product; recoup damages and determine if resalable or must be disposed of per food safety standards and requirements
  • Clean other areas of the warehouse and offices, including break rooms, restrooms, offices, etc.
  • Complete daily sanitation logs
  • Utilize chemicals, detergents, and cleaning equipment
  • Operate scrubber and pallet jacks if required to perform duties
  • Able to identify and address cleanliness and sanitation issues
  • Complies with all safety requirements
  • Escalate issues timely and directly to supervisor
  • Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
  • Operate forklifts or pallet jacks to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipmen
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
  • No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required
  • Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required
  • Flexible to work overtime preferred
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • must be able to operate forklift
  • Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
  • Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
This position is designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
