In this vital role, you will ensure that all areas of the daycare facility are kept spotless, sanitized, and well-maintained. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help create a healthy space where children can learn and play comfortably. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, play areas, restrooms, kitchens, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for children and staff Use floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and other custodial tools to maintain clean and sanitized flooring surfaces Conduct routine sanitation of high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, tables, and toys to prevent the spread of germs Assist with light maintenance tasks including minor repairs or reporting issues related to facilities or cleaning equipment Follow safe lifting practices when moving heavy furniture or cleaning supplies to prevent injury Maintain cleaning logs and report any safety hazards or maintenance needs promptly Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly desirable Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and scrubbers Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper safety practices Strong attention to detail with a focus on health and safety compliance Excellent customer service skills when interacting with staff or visitors about cleanliness standards Ability to work independently efficiently while adhering to safety protocols Join us in creating a safe, clean environment that supports the well-being of children and staff alike!
