A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

No Job is BIG or small, working here helps them all! We are HIRING now! This part-time Custodian position is scheduled to work 20 hours per week. Monday- Friday / 8:00pm - 12:00am Under close supervision, the Custodian performs a variety of custodial duties in the care and maintenance of County buildings and facilities. Work involves using a variety of procedures, power and hand equipment, and supplies to maintain buildings in a neat, sanitary, presentable manner. Employee must exercise some independent judgment in completion of assigned tasks that are subject to inspection. Position reports to Custodial Supervisor. OUR Community:
Gloucester County Sweeps, mops, strips, waxes and buffs floor surfaces; vacuums and shampoos carpets. Cleans windows, walls, woodwork and light fixtures; polishes metal fixtures and handles. Cleans, supplies and sanitizes restrooms. Empties trash receptacles and takes to dump site. Cleans, dusts and polishes tables and other furniture. Cleans kitchen areas (counter tops, sinks, tables, etc.) where applicable. Sets up and breaks down conference rooms for meetings, arranging furniture as requested. Cleans and maintains stairwells and elevators Loads and unloads custodial supplies and equipment on trucks; transports equipment and supplies to other facilities. Secures and locks buildings at appropriate times. Hoists and takes down flags daily. Performs outdoor duties such as trash removal. Sweeps and maintains outside areas such as building entrances. Writes up maintenance issues and safety hazards. Performs other duties as assigned. Possession of a high school diploma/GED. Some experience in custodial work, including the use of heavy floor stripping, waxing, and buffing equipment preferred. Possess a valid driver's license; possess and maintain a driving record that meets established Gloucester County Driving Standards. This position must pass , an enhanced background check, including fingerprint tracing to access secure spaces as necessary and a post-offer, pre-employment physical. The position is subject to subsequent physical examinations to ensure incumbent meets physical job requirements.
