A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Part-Time Pay Range:

$12.77/hour Position Summary Performs routine custodial duties to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of Town-owned buildings and public facilities. Work is performed independently under general supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Cleans offices, restrooms, meeting areas, and common spaces. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, dusts, and sanitizes surfaces and fixtures. Empties trash and recycling containers and restocks supplies. Reports needed repairs, damages, or safety concerns to supervisor. Assists with event setup and cleanup as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and complete tasks efficiently. Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious. Education and Experience Requirements Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
