Job Summary:

The Shopping Center Maintenance Associate is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of exterior areas of the shopping center, including parking lots, sidewalks, and public outdoor spaces. Secondary duties include performing basic interior upkeep of vacant or unrented retail units to ensure they remain presentable for prospective tenants. This role is essential in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for visitors, tenants, and leasing prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

Exterior Duties (Primary Focus): Regularly patrol the property to remove trash, litter, and debris from parking lots, walkways, landscaping, and loading zones Landscaping throughout the designated areas (mowing, weeding etc.) Interior Duties (Secondary): Clean and dust interior surfaces of vacant/unleased units as needed Sweep, mop, and maintain floors inside vacant units to ensure they are "show-ready" Assist management with occasional inspections or showings by keeping units presentable Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles Sweep sidewalks, curbs, and entryways Maintain cleanliness around dumpsters and compactors; report overflow or illegal dumping Remove weeds, cobwebs, and minor graffiti from exterior surfaces Monitor exterior lighting and report outages or damage Report any safety concerns or property damage to management immediately

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or porter roles is a plus Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks for extended periods Strong attention to detail and reliability Good communication and customer service skills Flexibility to work shifts if required
