Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all daycare areas, including playrooms, restrooms, kitchens, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and sanitation tools. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling safety procedures to ensure a healthy environment for children and staff. Conduct custodial tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, and floor care to maintain cleanliness standards. Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks related to cleaning supplies or equipment, adhering strictly to safe lifting practices. Operate commercial cleaning equipment efficiently, including floor buffers and scrubbers, to ensure optimal floor maintenance. Maintain safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or chemical exposure. Assist with minor facilities maintenance tasks when needed, including basic repairs or reporting issues requiring professional attention. Requirements Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles within commercial or residential settings; custodial experience is highly valued. Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards specific to childcare environments. Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers and other custodial equipment confidently. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while following safe lifting practices. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized nightly. Good communication skills with a customer service mindset to work effectively with staff members and maintain a positive environment.
