Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our commercial and residential properties. Your energetic approach to cleaning and maintenance will ensure that our facilities meet the highest standards of hygiene and appearance, creating a positive experience for everyone who enters. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in custodial services, floor care, industrial cleaning, and facilities maintenance while contributing to a well-organized and efficient workplace. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain pristine surfaces. Handle industrial cleaning tasks involving heavy-duty equipment and specialized cleaning agents for large-scale or high-traffic areas. Assist with custodial duties related to trash removal, recycling collection, restocking supplies, and sanitizing surfaces regularly. Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs needed for lighting, plumbing, or structural issues; perform basic upkeep tasks as directed. Execute residential painting projects or touch-ups when required to enhance the appearance of the property. Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, supplies inventory, and safety procedures to ensure compliance with health standards. Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing. Experience with industrial or large-scale cleaning operations is a plus. Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs and troubleshooting issues. Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers and extractors safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
