Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic Student Housing Cleaner to join our team immediately. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within student housing facilities. Your efforts will ensure that common areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal spaces are spotless and well-maintained, providing students with a comfortable living experience. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with janitorial or custodial experience to contribute to a vibrant community while gaining valuable skills in commercial cleaning and facilities maintenance. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of student housing units, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, and sanitizing bathrooms and kitchens Handle various cleaning agents safely and effectively, adhering to all safety protocols for chemical handling Use floor buffers and other equipment to maintain high standards of floor care and buffing across different surfaces Conduct routine inspections of communal areas such as hallways, lounges, laundry rooms, and entryways to ensure cleanliness and safety Assist with light maintenance tasks such as painting touch-ups or minor repairs as needed to uphold the quality of the living environment Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy cleaning equipment or moving furniture and supplies Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, supplies used, and any issues requiring further attention Requirements Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred; familiarity with commercial or industrial cleaning is a plus Knowledge of chemical agent handling and safety procedures for cleaning products Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting in accordance with safe lifting practices Experience operating floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment preferred Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to cleanliness and maintenance standards Excellent time management skills to complete assigned tasks efficiently within scheduled shifts Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
