• safety, cleanliness, and efficiency

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and recycling procedures.
• General knowledge of building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, and security systems.
• Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Responsible, self-directed, dependable work habits with strong time management skills.
• Positive interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, students, administrators, vendors, and community members.
• Working knowledge of school policies and procedures, including confidentiality.
• Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Flexibility to respond to occasional building needs outside of the regular workday as necessary.

Performance Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of assigned school buildings and grounds.
• Perform daily custodial duties, including cleaning classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and common areas.
• Assist the Head Custodians with routine maintenance, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Support the operation of building systems and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Assist with seasonal responsibilities, including snow removal, sidewalk maintenance, and playground upkeep.
• Set up and take down furniture and equipment for school events and activities.
• Assist with deliveries, inventory, recycling, and proper storage of custodial supplies.
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
• Work cooperatively with administration and school staff to support the daily operation of both schools.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
