Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Position Summary:
Part Time 24 to 32 hours per week Perform general janitorial and grounds keeping duties to support the production of Westport luxury yachts. Essential Job Functions Clean and maintain facility common areas to include office areas, break rooms, restrooms and parking lots. Clean maintain facility production areas, including work bays, storage areas, stairwells and utility rooms. Use common janitorial equipment such as brooms and vacuums and a variety of cleaning solutions and compounds. Organize, inventory and order materials and products for facility such as common cleaning products, restroom supplies and break room items Ability to operate lawn mowers, weeders and other small landscaping tools Properly use and maintain hand and battery operated tools as pertaining to light commercial building repairs such as hand wrenches, hammers, handsaws, tape measures, levels and power drills. Wear appropriate PPE including gloves, hard hats, fall protection, safety glasses and respirators as required. Assist with other Building Operations tasks as directed. Move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation. Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, ladder and stair climbing, crawling, twisting and lying. Additional Job Functions Follow all Westport policies and safety rules. Maintain excellent attendance record. Perform light custodial and building repairs using hand and battery operated tools Requirements Good communication skills. Ability to inventory, order, stock and account for janitorial products Ability to follow verbal, written and pictorial instructions. Function as a part of an effective team. Ability to work independently, be proactive and self-motivating Other Preferred Skills/Abilities Prior janitorial experience in a light industrial environment. Prior light commercial building maintenance. Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms, to stand, walk and climb stairs and ladders. The employee is occasionally required to sit, push or pull and lift up to 50 pounds (with or without accommodation). The work environment is a production floor setting and is usually noisy and can be dusty. Noise levels are moderate to high with some chemical odors present. When on the production floor, PPE is required where noted.

  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including and not limited to gloves, safety glasses, hard hat and or a respirator may need to be worn when handling hazardous products or working in hazardous environments.
  • Maintain and participate in keeping personal work area, shop and tools clean and in proper working order to ensure safe working environment.
  • Hazardous materials are used in the production process.
Employees must follow all safety guidelines and know evacuation procedures, the location of first aid stations and SDS locations in areas they work or visit on Company property.
