Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, with an emphasis on both residential and commercial cleaning standards. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors. Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas. Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and waxing to ensure surfaces are well-maintained. Assist with industrial cleaning tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Carry out basic facilities maintenance tasks to support overall building upkeep. Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts effectively. Provide porter services by moving furniture or equipment as required. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel. Skills Strong knowledge of custodial practices including commercial cleaning techniques. Experience in facilities maintenance is preferred. Proficiency in floor care methods such as buffing and waxing. Ability to perform residential painting tasks when necessary. Familiarity with industrial cleaning procedures and equipment. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff and visitors.
