Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Job Overview The Cedarburg School District seeks a responsible, energetic individual with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic to serve as a part-time weekend custodian. The nature of the position requires an individual who is reliable, self-motivated, reports to work on time each day and is able to work independently. The primary responsibility of the position is to ensure safe and clean learning/work environments by continuously cleaning and maintaining the building and grounds. Duties Ability to work weekends with flexibility Conduct district wide weekend building security checks Clean all assigned areas using proper methods and equipment Develop good will for the school through a courteous, cheerful and helpful attitude Collect and dispose of all waste in proper containers Perform all facets of floor maintenance (shampoo, extract, scrub, strip, finish, etc.) Move/deliver all furniture, equipment, supplies, etc. Remove snow as required Provide building security (lock and unlock as assigned) Basic understanding of maintenance to buildings and equipment Maintain work orders and their completion in a timely fashion Take care of custodial equipment providing proper preventative maintenance Submit work orders for equipment and facilities needing repair outside your capabilities Supervise evening and summer custodial and clearing operations Perform such duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Ability to plan and schedule custodial activities Ability to learn about and use material, equipment and methods commonly employed with general custodial duties Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities Ability to work/relate with staff, students, public Must be capable on a continuous basis of standing, walking, stair climbing, reaching, handling and griping without difficulty Must be capable on frequent basis of bending, stooping, pushing/pulling heavy objects, lifting/carrying objects up to 50 pounds Must be capable on an occasional basis of climbing ladders, driving light equipment, and working at heights up to 30 feet We invite qualified candidates who are passionate about maintaining clean and safe environments to apply for this essential position.
