Monday•Friday, 6:00 AM•3:30 PM Position Summary The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment throughout Baker Manufacturing's production, warehouse, office, and common areas. This position plays an important role in supporting daily operations by ensuring the facility meets cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in a heavy manufacturing and foundry environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety conscious, self motivated, and able to work independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Facility Cleaning & Sanitation Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, offices, and other common areas. Sweep, mop, scrub, and dry floors throughout production and office areas. Clean hallways, lobbies, corridors, lounges, windows, doors, walls, ceilings, and other assigned surfaces. Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas. Replenish restroom and breakroom supplies, including soap, paper products, and sanitation items. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the facility and surrounding grounds. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE while working in or around production areas. Maintain safe walking surfaces by addressing spills, debris, and hazards promptly. Assist with sidewalk and entrance safety during winter months, including snow removal and salting. Work safely in hot, loud, dusty, and industrial manufacturing environments. Grounds & General Support Pick up refuse and maintain cleanliness of exterior plant grounds and entrances. Support light maintenance tasks and special cleaning projects as assigned. Assist departments with facility cleanliness needs to help maintain operational efficiency. Qualifications & Skills Strong attendance and reliability. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Good communication and teamwork skills. Basic math and problem solving abilities. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safety focused work environment. Previous janitorial, custodial, industrial cleaning, or manufacturing experience preferred. Education & Experience Requirements Previous janitorial or industrial cleaning experience preferred. Physical Requirements Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, reach, talk, and hear throughout the workday. Frequently lift and move 10-25 pounds. Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally push or pull wheeled carts up to 100 pounds. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to work in hot, loud, dusty, and physically demanding environments typical of a manufacturing or foundry facility. Must have close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
