Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Substitute Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong commitment to quality cleaning practices and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Hours change depending on the season. Summer hours are from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Once the school year starts, hours will shift from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This position is currently one day a week and will then be on a as needed only basis. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas. Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, and common areas to ensure hygiene standards are met. Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stored. Follow safety protocols while using cleaning chemicals and equipment to ensure personal safety and the safety of others. Experience Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred but not required. Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices is a plus. Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and equipment operation is beneficial. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively while completing tasks. A proactive approach to identifying areas that require cleaning or maintenance.
