Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

The School District of the Menomonie Area has an Evening Custodian at Oaklawn Elementary School. This is a full time, year-round position to begin on August 10, 2026 or as close to that date as possible. Hours are approximately 2:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. and conditions of employment are in accordance with the School District of the Menomonie Area Employee Handbook. The starting wage is $22.26 per hour with comprehensive benefits.
Description:
Ability to fulfill requirements of the qualifications as listed in job description # 603-08 Regular Custodian. Qualifications include, but are not limited to: Ability to learn and achieve intermediate competency of email, Google Suite, Microsoft Office software and other software used in buildings & grounds operations. Ability to trouble-shoot, maintenance, and repair at the building level and flow work requests to the appropriate buildings & grounds department for timely resolution. Ability to perform preventative and minor maintenance work in accordance with a district plan at the building level. Perform general custodial duties, assist in mentoring new personnel and monitor risk control within assigned buildings. Willingness to attend training sessions to increase skills that continuously improve the efficiency and standards of the building and district. As an agent of the district, demonstrate the ability to positively and accurately communicate to all levels of the workforce and public pertinent instructions and information. Demonstrate the ability to organize and coordinate facility and duty assignments as directed. Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and performance compliance of OSHA standards and local, state and federal related building codes. The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to be an independent thinker and open to change; understand the need to work in a fast-paced atmosphere with frequent shifts in workplace prioritization; be willing to work in a collaborative manner to do what is best for students, and have a full understanding of the importance of flexibility and flawless communication.
