A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order in our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Duties This position hours are 3:00-11:30pm. The duties include (but are not limited to) the following: Keeping buildings and premises clean and safe Vacuuming, mopping and general cleaning practices Emptying trash and recyclable bins Disinfecting tables, desks, restrooms, etc. Assisting building staff with lifting (up to 60 pounds) Performing basic maintenance, minor repairs, and cleaning duties Other duties as assigned Snow removal, sand and salt application Assisting with set-up for events in the fieldhouse and auditorium Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical equipment. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with time constraints. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and occasionally very loud. Experience Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but not mandatory. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, post secondary education desirable. Willingness to attend further training as directed. Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the areas of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Experience, preferably in an educational setting, in facilities management, preventive maintenance and HVAC systems. Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license. Experience in working with computer based programs.
