A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Essential Functions:

1. Clean restrooms, classrooms, and hallways 2. Scrub, burnish and wax floors 3. Move classroom furniture and setup for events 4. Secure the building 5. Minor maintenance 6. Other duties as assigned Qualifications 1. High School diploma or equivalent 2. Basic computer skills 3. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, chemical labels, and short correspondence 4. Able to obtain job related certifications as required 5. Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. and climb ladders 6. Ability to communicate with staff, students, and community in a respectful and professional manner 7.
