Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
In addition to performing and overseeing cleaning activities, the Sanitation Lead will be responsible for training new sanitation workers, assigning responsibilities for end of week shutdown and performing sanitation verification activities. Typically work Monday - Thursday (8AM - 6PM) and Fridays (6AM-2PM)
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, floors, walls, and other areas as per established Sanitation Standard Operating procedures (SSOPs) and master sanitation schedules (MSS). 2. Assemble, disassemble, and cleaning various types of equipment. 3. Safely handle and use cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, following safety protocols. 4. Maintaining accurate records of cleaning and sanitation activities, including documentation of chemical usage and inventory. 5. Work with Supervisor and Management to revise and update SSOPs. 6. Identify all equipment used and assign cleaning tasks to teams for weekly shutdown cleaning. 7. Review and manage records for sanitation activities and completion tasks. 8. Inspect all equipment at the end of cleaning to ensure equipment is adequately cleaned and ready for start-up inspection. 9. Coordinate special cleaning activities with production and quality leadership based on production schedule and need.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 1 year experience in sanitation for food manufacturing or pharmaceutical with experience in training and leading a sanitation team preferred. Ability to speak and understand English and Spanish is preferred. Ability to read and follow written directions (in English) is preferred. Highschool Diploma or equivalent
KEY COMPETENCIES
Ability to lead a team, resolve conflicts and issues. Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow instructions. Ability to seek support if unsure of assigned tasks. To understand basic forms.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Long periods of standing, crouching or bending (about 75%). Standard office conditions (about 25%) Ability to withstand moderately warm or cold temperatures and wet environment.
