Duties Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer using hand tools and power tools. Execute painting tasks including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (including airless paint spraying and conventional spraying), and coating applications on various surfaces such as drywall, stucco, masonry, and structural elements. Use ladders safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas during painting or maintenance tasks. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface preparation instructions to ensure precise application of paint and coatings. Perform renovation and restoration projects by repairing drywall, caulking gaps, installing fixtures, and performing basic carpentry or masonry work as needed. Follow strict safety regulations by wearing respiratory protection and adhering to safety protocols on construction sites. Conduct surface inspections using visual color comparison techniques to ensure color consistency and quality standards are met. Utilize hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless systems), and other equipment efficiently to complete projects on time. Maintain a clean work environment by disposing of waste properly and ensuring all tools are stored safely after use. Qualifications Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on painting or maintenance work. Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, surface preparation techniques, and color theory. Skilled in residential and commercial painting including interior and exterior surfaces. Ability to operate ladders safely and confidently at various heights. Familiarity with construction spray painting methods such as airless paint spraying and conventional spraying. Experience with drywall installation/repair, plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, and fixture installation is preferred. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to construction painting including respiratory protection protocols. Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating paint quantities accurately. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, and industrial painting equipment like coating machines. Ability to interpret technical drawings or blueprints for precise project execution. Excellent attention to detail with an eye for color matching through visual comparison techniques. Effective communication skills with the ability to follow instructions clearly in a team environment.
