What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Responsibilities for this position include deep cleaning all areas of the facility, shampooing carpets, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing toilets and sinks, steam cleaning showers, and trash disposal. Typical schedule consists of weekday evenings and rotating weekend day shifts.
Requirements:
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a commercial cleaning environment or closely-related field preferred. Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work without direct supervision.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push or pull a minimum of 10lbs frequently throughout the shift. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time. Ability to reach forward and overhead, bend, and stoop frequently throughout the shift.
