CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleans areas and equipment as assigned (throughout hospital, Medical Office Building, Food Service and Cafeteria) including carpeting and hard surface flooring. 2. Maintains and sanitizes public areas including but not limited to rest rooms, employee lounges, and waste storage area. 3. Maintains corridors by cleaning, stripping and waxing floors as assigned. 4. Transports trash and confidential material to collection and holding areas by prescribed procedures. 5. Gathers infectious, hazardous and recyclable materials and prepares material for proper processing. 6. Utilizes chemicals/equipment appropriately to assure employee/patient safety as well as desired results. 7. Moves furniture and equipment as assigned. 8. Maintains work areas and equipment in clean, orderly and functional condition at all times. 9. Responds and takes necessary action in emergency situations such as fire alarms, water leaks, life flights and disaster and evacuation drills. 10. Follows all safety procedures and policies. 11. May be cross trained in other areas.

Ability to calculate appropriate portions of chemicals and understand associated safety and hazard information.
