A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
6 Month Contract Job Summary Perform assigned cleaning work in and around the plant and Coal Yard offices. Responsibilities include office cleaning, trash removal, and general cleaning of restrooms, offices, common areas, and other plant facilities, including the RSO, FGD, and Service Building. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities Clean walls, windows, fixtures, furniture, and equipment. Operate various power cleaning devices, including scrubbing machines, buffers, and vacuum cleaners. Replace lamps in lighting fixtures. Clean washroom equipment and replenish supplies. Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning, lamp, and washroom supplies. Remove waste paper, trash, and other debris. Perform minor maintenance on equipment, furniture, fixtures, doors, and similar items. Move office furniture and equipment and arrange rooms for conferences and meetings. Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Assist in the training of other employees. Participate in training for and/or perform duties related to firefighting, first aid, and other emergency response programs. Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules, operating regulations, and established practices. Report unsafe conditions and practices. Report irregularities or abnormal conditions. Take notes and maintain records as directed. Perform similar or less-skilled work as assigned.
