$16.73 Weekends and Holidays Part-Time, Non-Benefited The City of Laramie is inviting applications for an Animal Shelter Custodian. This role involves performing custodial tasks and caring for animals to keep buildings and facilities clean and well-maintained, while also supporting the community service officers in Animal Control.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean and disinfect kennels for dogs, cats, and other domestic animals. Empty, clean, and sanitize food and water bowls. Feed the animals and monitor their health and well-being. Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures such as sinks, urinals, and toilets, and restock supplies. Clean floors, furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment. Wash windows, mirrors, and walls. Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles. Manage the transfer of animals between cages or other containers. Ensure buildings are secured at the end of the shift. Carry out duties and responsibilities related to the role as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A combination of the following experience and training would be qualifying. Education or training, whether formal or informal, that guarantees the ability to read and write effectively for successful job performance. Capability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, climb, and lift up to 40 pounds. Exposure to cold, heat, noise, outdoor elements, chemicals, dust, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, vicious animals, animal waste, and disease. Ability to travel to various sites. Availability to work weekends and holidays. Applicants who are offered appointments will be required to pass a drug screening, a comprehensive background investigation, and a driver's license check.
