A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
Located in Wheatland , this part-time position supports the care and upkeep of public facilities by performing a variety of building interior and grounds maintenance duties. The work helps ensure clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for employees and the public. The position works between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and plays an important role in maintaining facilities that support daily operations and public service

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. Responsible for general cleaning, vacuuming floors and furniture, emptying trash and recycling containers, dusting, washing windows and mirrors, and cleaning/stocking restrooms, bathrooms, classrooms, breakrooms, hallways, gym, and offices. Performs ground maintenance duties which include mowing and weeding grass in the summer months, along with care and maintenance of trees, shrubs, and flowers, and snow removal in the winter months. Operates and maintains equipment, including hand tools, vacuums, carpet shampooers, extractors, floor scrubbers, square scrubs, floor buffers, mowers, and weed eaters. Inspects and documents lighting and fire extinguishers for proper operation. Maintains storage of custodial supplies; requests replenishments as needed. Identifies facility material deficiencies and submits work order requests to the Supervisor and Construction Facilities Management Office. PREFERENCES/•AGENCY
REQUIREMENTS
Preference may be given to those with a High School Diploma Plus 6 months of progressive work experience, typically in Building and Grounds. •Agency requires the successful applicant to have a valid Driver's License •Agency requires the successful applicant to obtain/maintain Federal Security Clearance.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and methods of more technical cleaning and maintenance. Computer Skills such as e-mail, MS Word, and basic computer skills. OSHA and EPA regulations. Safety skills and background. Bloodborne Pathogen.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds)
OR Education & Experience Substitution:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds)

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
80 Hours per month Work hours will be an agreed-upon set schedule, working between the hours of 7:00 am and 12:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This position will work the Phoenix Friday schedule. This will be explained during the interview process. This position is considered essential personnel. This employee will be subject to call-in and call-back and will be required to respond during inclement weather for snow removal. Exposure to hazardous materials, bodily fluids, chemicals, bio-hazards, and potential explosives. Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs. Must be able to operate cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment •Employee may be subject to after-hours call back or reporting to work outside of their normally scheduled hours
