Country Club Position Summary:
The Food Expediter (Expo) plays a critical role in delivering a polished, consistent dining experience for members and guests. This position ensures all dishes meet the club's standards for quality, presentation, and accuracy while coordinating seamless communication between the kitchen and front-of-house team. The Expo helps maintain timing, organization, and flow during service to uphold the club's reputation for excellence.Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the flow of tickets and ensure timely execution of all orders during service
- Act as the central communication point between kitchen staff and service team
- Inspect all dishes for proper presentation, portioning, temperature, and adherence to club standards before leaving the kitchen
- Ensure all components of each plate are complete, properly garnished, and consistent with menu specifications
- Manage pacing of courses for dining rooms, events, and member service
- Clearly communicate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special member requests to the kitchen
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional expo line and pass
- Assist with final plate presentation and finishing touches as needed
- Monitor ticket times and proactively address delays to maintain member satisfaction
- Support coordination for banquets, golf events, and special club functions when required
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or private club preferred
- Strong understanding of food presentation and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced, high-standard environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to read and manage tickets efficiently (POS experience a plus)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25-40 lbs
- Comfortable working in a warm, fast-paced kitchen environment
