Job Summary We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Sushi Helper to support our sushi chefs in preparing high-quality sushi and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. This role is ideal for someone passionate about Japanese cuisine and eager to learn the art of sushi-making in a fast-paced kitchen environment- Responsibilities Assist sushi chefs with food prep, including washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients (fish, vegetables, rice, etc.) Strong customer service Prepare basic rolls, nigiri, and other items under supervision Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep and kitchen areas Monitor stock and inform chef/manager when supplies are low Follow all food safety and hygiene standards Dispose of waste properly and ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored correctly Occasionally assist with plating or customer service as needed Perform other kitchen duties as assigned Experience Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices is a plus. Basic knowledge of culinary techniques, including food preparation and cooking methods. Experience in catering or menu planning is advantageous. A passion for the culinary arts and a willingness to learn new skills within the kitchen environment.
