This role supports Kids On The Go by safely transporting children, preparing nutritious meals in compliance with CACFP guidelines, assisting classrooms as needed, and maintaining a clean and safe facility environment. Key Responsibilities Transportation Duties Safely transport children to and from school and program activities. Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections. Maintain compliance with California driving laws and company transportation policies. Ensure children are supervised and safely secured during transport. Kitchen & CACFP Meal Program Responsibilities Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks that meet CACFP meal pattern requirements, including appropriate components and portion sizes for each age group. Follow approved menus and ensure substitutions meet CACFP guidelines. Maintain accurate daily meal counts and required CACFP documentation. Ensure proper food storage, labeling, dating, and rotation (FIFO method). Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, including: Proper handwashing and glove use Prevention of cross-contamination Safe food temperatures (cooking, holding, cooling, and reheating) Maintain temperature logs for refrigerators, freezers, and hot-held foods. Ensure compliance with all local health department, California Licensing, and CACFP regulations. Accommodate documented food allergies and dietary restrictions according to policy. Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchen at all times. Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management. Participate in CACFP training as required. Janitorial & Facility Support Duties Perform preventive and routine cleaning of interior and exterior spaces. Maintain classrooms, restrooms, kitchen, and common areas to business and California Licensing standards. Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals according to OSHA guidelines. Assist with facility setup for meetings, events, and classroom activities. Secure buildings and doors when not in use. Report maintenance or safety concerns to management promptly. General Expectations Assist in classrooms as needed. Follow directions and collaborate effectively with team members. Maintain high attention to detail and complete all assigned tasks daily. Demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and strong organizational skills. Communicate professionally with staff, students, and parents. Maintain a safe, welcoming environment for children, families, staff, and the community. Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Fluent in reading, writing, and communicating in English. Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Clean driving record (Mandatory). Qualified to operate a company vehicle based on motor vehicle record check and company policy. Minimum 3 years of driving experience required. Knowledge of California driving laws and regulations. Education & Experience At least one year of related experience preferred. Experience in a commercial kitchen (highly desired). Experience in a licensed childcare facility (1 year preferred). Experience transporting groups of children (highly desired). Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. Knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and food safety procedures. Ability to read and follow facility schedules and meal service documentation.
