The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, with a focus on sushi preparation and presentation. This role involves creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while adhering to food safety standards and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Duties Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring high standards of taste and presentation. Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and execute menu items, including seasonal specials. Maintain knowledge of various sushi ingredients, including fish types, rice preparation, and garnishes. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies needed for meal preparation. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi techniques and food safety practices. Provide exceptional food service by responding to customer inquiries about menu items and dietary preferences. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within the food service industry. Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on meal preparation, particularly in sushi making. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations relevant to the dietary department. Proficiency in using kitchen tools, including knives and other sushi-specific equipment. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being able to work independently when required. Excellent attention to detail with a passion for creating visually appealing dishes. Previous experience in catering or large-scale meal preparation is a plus.
