A Kitchen Staff assists with food preparation as directed by cooks, food supervisors or chefs. Cleans kitchen work areas and dishes. Prepares ingredients for dishes to be cooked, prepares beverages, and stocks salad bars or buffet tables.
The Kitchen Steward is responsible for deep cleaning and maintaining large, heavy-duty kitchen equipment and areas, including ovens, grills, fryers, hoods, walk-ins, and other commercial kitchen machinery. This position requires the use of specialized cleaning products and tools to ensure all equipment meets health and safety standards. The Kitchen Steward also assists in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen's back-of-house areas, supporting the culinary team by ensuring a sanitary and operational work environment.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values. 2. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. 3. Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment following all safety protocols and material safety data sheets (MSDS). 4. Perform scheduled deep-cleaning tasks according to cleaning calendars and maintenance plans. 5. Deep clean inside and outside of heavy-duty kitchen equipment, including but not limited to; ovens, grills, fryers, broilers, steamers, kettles, and hoods as prescribed by department SOP. 6. Clean floors, walls, and hoods, and perform additional cleaning duties as assigned. 7. Remove, clean, and replace all floor mats. 8. When applicable, clean, sanitize, and polish all stainless-steel tables, countertops, shelves, stainless steel walls, and stainless-steel appliances. 9. Ensure that all caution and safety markers are displayed properly. 10. Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor immediately. 11. Safely use all cleaning tools and chemicals. 12. Adhere to health, sanitation, and safety standards at all times. 13. Assist Kitchen Workers and perform additional cleaning duties as assigned. 14. Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form. 2. Must possess or obtain a California Food Handlers Certificate. 3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 4. Must be at least 18 years of age. 5. Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.
