OVERVIEW

To prepare and cook each day's meals under the direction of the Center Director/Program Chef in a high-volume institutional kitchen environment in the VFW San Joaquin Hall Kitchen.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and cook each days menu for up to 3 meals per day

Resposible for keeping work station clean and sanitized

Adhere to niform requirements and food service cleanliness

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all kitchen tools and eqipment

Respond to daily assignments for the Food Service Manager/Head Chef

Shop for food items as directed and needed

Assist in drought response effors as needed

Assist in translation as needed

Data entry for Well Sky, USDA reporting and Donation Reporting

All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

HACCP Food Handling Certification

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or cometimes continuous basis

Ability to grasp, push and pull objects such as files,s file cabinest drawers, and reach overhead

EQUIPMENT USED

Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually supplies boxes)
