A great pantry cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare for service Prepare a variety of foods including various side dishes Prepare sauces and garnishes Cover, label, date, and correctly store all food items as per safe food-handling procedures Inform chef in advance of likely shortages Check food plating, temperature, and portions for all dishes Sterilize kitchen equipment at the end of your shift Monitor stock and place orders, as needed Set up sanitizer buckets and towels for station Temperature checks for all coolers Set up rubber floor mats at station Tastings with team members Disinfect prep surface areas Sweep and mop designated areas Sweep and mop walk in cooler and dry storage area Ensure all products are labeled correctly in the walk-in cooler Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School/GED or higher education preferred 1+ year(s) of experience in high-paced kitchen environment preferred Knowledge in various cooking ingredients preferred Must know how to clean, sharpen, maintain kitchen knives Familiar with the taste of authentic Korean food preferred
SKILLS & ABILITIES
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Proper lifting, pushing and pulling techniques are required.
BENEFITS OVERVIEW
All employees are offered medical, dental, vision, supplemental life, disability, hospital, and accident insurance. Employees are able to enroll in the company 401k plan after 90 days of employment. Paid sick leave accrues at the rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked with a carryover cap of 48 hours.
