A Kitchen Staff assists with food preparation as directed by cooks, food supervisors or chefs. Cleans kitchen work areas and dishes. Prepares ingredients for dishes to be cooked, prepares beverages, and stocks salad bars or buffet tables.

POSITION PURPOSE
To produce lunch and/or dinner menu items, including items pertaining to diets, trayline needs, and special events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and requested by the Director that are within the scope of this position. Prepare food for dining room, trayline diets, special menus, and catering functions. Prepare food according to production recipes. Maintain clean, orderly work area at all times. Maintain production area walk-in refers, check product rotation and utilization. Must clean any machinery used such as slicers, buffalo chopper, mixers, etc.. Properly clear and sanitize all counters and work areas. Put dry goods away and send all utensils to the dish room. Leave work area neat and clean. Food reception, preparation, storage, and sanitation in accordance with HACCP procedures. Break down/replenish Salad Bar serving line after meal.

Moderate to heavy physical conditions. Involves heavy lifting and carrying of over 50 lbs. On feet most of the time. Involves walking, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Pushing and pulling of carts and racks. Some exposure to uncomfortable temperatures or odors.
