Kitchen Staff 2nd Home Community - Abilene LLC Aurora, CO Job Details Part-time | Full-time $21 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications English Korean Food Handler Certification Full Job Description Position Summary The Kitchen Staff member is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks to participants in the Adult Day Care program while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. This position plays an important role in supporting the health, dietary needs, and overall well-being of older adults and adults with disabilities. Must speak both English and Korean Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare breakfast, lunch, and scheduled snacks according to the approved menu. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and storage. Prepare meals that accommodate special diets, allergies, texture modifications, and physician-ordered dietary restrictions. Serve meals in a courteous and respectful manner. Ensure meals are served at scheduled times. Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment. Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, dining areas, refrigerators, and kitchen equipment. Monitor food temperatures and maintain food temperature logs. Rotate food inventory using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) practices. Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food deliveries. Notify the supervisor when food or kitchen supplies are running low. Dispose of trash and recycling according to health regulations. Maintain a safe, organized, and clutter-free kitchen. Assist with special events, holiday meals, and celebrations as requested. Work cooperatively with Adult Day Care staff to ensure participant needs are met. Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately. Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) requirements. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous food service, cafeteria, restaurant, healthcare, or senior care experience preferred. Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills. Compassionate and respectful attitude toward older adults and individuals with disabilities. Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm Must speak both Korean and English Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods. Lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Bend, stoop, reach, and kneel frequently. Push or pull carts containing food or supplies. Work in a warm kitchen environment. Certifications (Preferred or Required) Food Handler Certification (required within state or local guidelines) CPR/First Aid (preferred) Current TB screening, if required Background check and any state-required screenings Must speak both Korean and English Work Schedule Full-Time or Part-Time Monday-Friday Daytime hours (typically no evenings or major holidays) Work Environment This position works in an Adult Day Care Center serving seniors and adults with disabilities. The Kitchen Staff member is expected to maintain a professional, friendly, and participant-centered approach while ensuring food quality and safety.
