We offer classes, workshops, private events and products for people of all ages and levels of experience. At The LGC, we are dedicated to fostering a vibrant community centered around health and wellness through cooking and lifestyle. Our goal is to make nutritious cooking and eating enjoyable while creating a fun, welcoming space where people can learn, connect, and grow. Role Overview We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and dependable Market Attendant & Kitchen/Class Assistant to join our growing team. The primary role is Market Attendant , responsible for creating a welcoming, knowledgeable, and well-maintained experience for our market customers. Depending on the schedule and needs of The LGC, this position will also cross-train in the kitchen to provide kitchen and class support during cooking classes and workshops. This is a hands-on, community-focused position that is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, loves food and wellness, and is comfortable jumping in wherever they are needed. Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Operations & Customer Service Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming shopping experience Provide knowledgeable and helpful customer service Answer questions about products, ingredients, and dietary considerations Help customers select products that meet their needs and interests Process cash, credit card, and other transactions accurately and efficiently Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting market Stock shelves and displays and ensure products are properly merchandised Accept deliveries and update inventory as needed Perform opening and closing procedures Prepare simple food and beverages such as smoothies, snacks, and other market offerings Monitor product displays and communicate restocking needs Help maintain a high standard of cleanliness and food safety throughout the market Kitchen & Class Support When scheduled for cooking classes or workshops: Assist with preparing the classroom and kitchen before class Help prepare ingredients, equipment, and workstations Support the Chef Instructor throughout the class Help participants as needed and answer basic questions Assist with keeping the class organized and running smoothly Wash dishes and maintain clean kitchen surfaces throughout the class Assist with food preparation and other basic kitchen tasks as directed Help class participants with market purchases when appropriate Complete post-class cleanup and return equipment and supplies to their proper places Help reset the kitchen and classroom for the next use Team & Community Work collaboratively with instructors, market staff, management, and other team members Be willing to jump in and help wherever needed Contribute to a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment Represent The Lucky Gut Collective's values of community, wellness, learning, and connection Continue learning about our products, classes, ingredients, and wellness philosophy Stay curious and open to learning new skills Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills Friendly, positive, and enthusiastic attitude Reliable, responsible, and able to follow through on tasks Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Previous retail, food service, hospitality, or kitchen experience preferred Basic kitchen skills and knowledge of kitchen safety preferred Knowledge of nutrition, dietary restrictions, or wellness is a plus Food Handler's Certification (this can be completed within the first 90 days of hire) Willingness to learn and take direction Ability to move comfortably between customer service, retail, and kitchen responsibilities What We Offer $16.94-$18.94/hour , based on experience and specialty Flexible scheduling Opportunities for professional development and growth — we're just getting this party started! Other days you may be making smoothies, stocking shelves, prepping ingredients, helping a Chef Instructor during a class, or washing a mountain of dishes.
