Job Summary Join our dynamic culinary team as a Food Expeditor, where your energy and organizational skills will ensure a seamless flow of delicious dishes from kitchen to table. In this vital role, you will coordinate between kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to guarantee timely, accurate, and high-quality food service. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a memorable dining experience for every guest, fostering a lively and efficient atmosphere that celebrates great food and exceptional service. Duties Act as the communication link between kitchen staff and servers to expedite food orders efficiently. Ensure all dishes are prepared according to quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food safety regulations. Organize and prioritize incoming orders, managing timing to prevent delays and ensure hot, fresh meals. Verify order accuracy before serving, checking for proper plating, portion sizes, and garnishes. Assist in food preparation tasks when necessary, supporting the kitchen team with basic cooking or food handling. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expediting station to promote a safe and efficient workspace. Collaborate with kitchen staff on special requests, dietary restrictions, or modifications to enhance customer satisfaction. Skills Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards. Proven experience in food expediting or food service roles within restaurants or hospitality environments. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and order management software. Organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy service hours. Basic numeracy for portion control, order accuracy, and inventory awareness. Experience in banquet service, catering, or hotel food service is a plus.
