POSITION SUMMARY
The Culinary Kitchen Team Member supports the preparation and execution of 4Roots culinary events, with a primary focus on the ORIGIN at 4Roots dinner series and other culinary programs as assigned. This role works in an active, open-air kitchen environment and assists with food preparation, cooking, plating, station readiness, service execution, sanitation, and event breakdown while maintaining 4Roots standards for quality, hospitality, food safety, and teamwork.
What We're Looking For Culinary Foundation:
1+ years of line/prep cook experience in a scratch kitchen, fine-dining restaurant, or high-end catering, or current enrollment/completion of a culinary arts program.
Outdoor Kitchen Adaptability:
Ability to thrive in an active open-air kitchen setting while maintaining strict cleanliness and focus during live service.
Technical Skills:
Strong knife skills, solid foundational cooking techniques, and acute attention to plating detail.
Drive & Curiosity:
An eager, coachable mindset dedicated to learning from top-tier culinary professionals and pursuing long-term culinary growth.
Schedule Availability:
Flexibility to work event-based shifts; ORIGIN event days typically run from 12:00 PM-11:00 PM. ORIGIN events are currently held once per month, with potential opportunities to support additional events and programming that may grow from the series.
Food Safety:
Active Food Handler or ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). What You'll Do as a
Culinary Kitchen Team Member Comprehensive Event Support:
Actively participate in all phases of culinary events, including detailed pre-event setup, precise event execution, and thorough post-event breakdown and cleaning.
Outdoor Kitchen & Line Execution:
Support all aspects related to the organization and execution of a multi-course fine-dining dinner in an active, open-air outdoor kitchen with high guest visibility.
Primary Event Support:
Anchor kitchen prep, station readiness, and service execution primarily for ORIGIN at 4Roots, adapting seamlessly to new event concepts as programming expands. Mise en

Execute meticulous culinary prep, batch cooking, and station organization meeting fine-dining restaurant benchmarks.
Direct Mentorship:
Learn refined cooking techniques, kitchen efficiency, and menu development side-by-side with Chef Hari Pulapaka and visiting culinary leaders.
Ingredient Stewardship:
Handle and showcase peak-season ingredients sourced directly across Florida and campus farm operations.
Sanitation & Station Integrity:

$20.00/hour (Kitchen Team Member); $25.00/hour (Sous Chef).
Sous Chef Advancement:
Exceptional candidates may be offered the Sous Chef role at $25.00/hour, leading a station and mentoring the kitchen team alongside Chef Hari Pulapaka.
