Hourly, Non-Exempt (Georgia Compliant) Position Summary The Kitchen Expo / Prep Lead at SDK'S Café & Coffee is responsible for assisting Cooks to ensure all food orders are prepared accurately, efficiently, and consistently using rapid ovens and toasters, while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and food safety. This position serves as the final quality control checkpoint before food reaches the customer. Key Responsibilities Assist Cooks to manage food order flow using Toast/KDS; prioritize tickets for speed and accuracy. This includes reading across KDS pulling and prepping bread for each order, pulling spreads and sauces for Cooks and having them ready for Cooks to use, preparing sides and assuring they are placed in proper bags for each customer. Assist Cooks to assemble and verify food orders according to SDK'S Café & Coffee standards. Assist Cooks to operate rapid ovens and toasters using correct settings and timing as directed by Cooks. Complete daily food prep based on par levels; label and date all items as per food safety rules. Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready station at all times. Food Prep & Station Readiness Complete daily prep tasks based on established par levels, including: Protein portioning (bacon, sausage, ham, turkey, etc.) Staging Bagels in case Breads, spreads, and sandwich components Label and date all prepped items properly Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages Restock station supplies proactively during slower periods and before end of shift/close of business day
