Full Job Description Position Title:
Kitchen Assistant / Culinary Support Specialist Job Summary The Kitchen Assistant supports the Lead Cook with daily kitchen operations, food preparation, sanitation, and quality standards. This position assists with ingredient preparation, scaling, mixing, sausage roll preparation, filling activities, documentation, sanitation, and transport preparation while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities Assist the Lead Cook with daily kitchen operations and food preparation tasks Scale and measure ingredients accurately according to recipes, specifications, and kitchen standards Mix and prepare meat following established recipes and quality requirements Assist with cutting, trimming, and preparing meats and other ingredients as needed Consolidate pie filling and accurately log, weigh, and record filling temperatures in preparation for transport Assist in the completion of kitchen logs and required documentation accurately and timely Prepare and organize materials for transport while ensuring proper handling and food safety requirements are followed Wash, sanitize, and prepare bins, containers, and equipment for the next operation Learn and follow food safety, sanitation, allergen control, and quality control procedures Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen area, including dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and general porter responsibilities Assist with organizing ingredients, supplies, and kitchen equipment Support the Lead Cook in maintaining consistency, efficiency, and quality of all kitchen activities Qualifications Previous kitchen, prep cook, culinary, or food service experience preferred Ability to accurately measure, weigh, record, and follow recipes and procedures Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and safety Ability to maintain accurate logs and documentation Comfortable performing a variety of kitchen duties, including food preparation, sanitation, and cleaning Willingness to learn kitchen processes, quality standards, and food safety practices Reliable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry 50-60 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Must be able to work in both hot and cold production environments , including freezer and refrigerated areas. Must be able to safely operate production equipment and work around moving machinery. Must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
