Job Summary Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Helper at Birdies, where your enthusiasm and dedication will contribute to creating a welcoming and efficient kitchen environment. In this vital role, you will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and assist with various kitchen operations to ensure smooth daily service. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help deliver high-quality meals and uphold safety standards, making every dining experience exceptional for our guests. Duties Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques. Support the culinary team in following recipes accurately to ensure consistent meal quality. Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food processors. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by cleaning workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly in accordance with food safety standards. Help with meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy periods. Follow food handling procedures diligently to uphold food safety management protocols. Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with large-scale meal preparation as needed. Skills Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable. Strong background in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of food industry standards. Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and team members. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments to prevent accidents and ensure safe food handling practices. Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Ability to perform cleaning duties thoroughly while maintaining high hygiene standards. Culinary experience including knife skills, slicing techniques, and cooking methods is preferred.
