Kitchen/ Support Staff The Star City Early Learning Academy is a ministry of Star City Church. Are you passionate about working with young children? Have a servant's heart? Want to work in a ministry full-time? We need you!
Overview:
Our kitchen staff is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children in a childcare setting. This role may also involve creating menus, ordering food supplies, and ensuring that all meals meet dietary guidelines and food safety regulations.
Key responsibilities:
1. Plan and prepare balanced meals and snacks for children in accordance with dietary guidelines and food safety regulations. 2. Create weekly menus that offer a variety of healthy and appealing food options for children. 3. Order food supplies and maintain inventory to ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked. 4. Monitor food allergies and dietary restrictions of children and prepare special meals as needed. 5. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following proper sanitation and hygiene practices. 6. Collaborate with child care staff to provide feedback on children's eating habits and preferences. 7. Attend training sessions and stay updated on nutrition and food safety guidelines. 8. Communicate with parents regarding menu changes, food allergies, and dietary concerns. 9. Assist with mealtime routines and encourage positive eating habits in children. 10. Adhere to all child care center policies and procedures related to food preparation and safety.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in food preparation, preferably in a childcare setting
  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietary guidelines for children
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation is a plus Overall, kitchen staff play a crucial role in promoting healthy eating habits and ensuring the well-being of children in a child care setting.
