Do you like working on a great team in a wonderful environment? If so, we have the opportunity for you! Flour Bakery + Cafe is looking for a full-time Lead Preparation Cook . The Lead Preparation Cook position is a great opportunity for any line cook or prep cook that is looking to grow into a leadership role and/or management. The Lead prep works closely with the Kitchen Manager to ensure that all parts of the kitchen and stewarding team are efficient and supported at all times. The Leap Prep is expected to lead their teams on their own when the Kitchen Manager is not in the bakery and is expected to work in conjunction with the FOH team to ensure that all orders are being fulfilled timely and with accuracy. Success in this role requires the ability to be proactive when faced with any obstacle including but not limited to; ordering products, fulfilling guest orders and staffing issues, while offering support and guidance for all of the team members, including FOH, at times.
Day-to-Day Performance Expectations:
Execute prep list for savory and pastry items as written by kitchen manager or manager . Note the order in which tasks are to be completed. Provide support for coworkers in order to ensure prep is being done efficiently. Follow all recipes and techniques in food preparation. Be another set of eyes on product/Mom test Provide constructive feedback as needed Handle food and clean stations per standard sanitation procedures. Assist with kitchen upkeep and deep cleaning tasks when production list is complete Assist with checking in ordering from BK Help maintain an orderly and clean kitchen Cover all Kitchen managers days off Check-in each day when you arrive and leave with the FOH manager or Kitchen Manager Plan any and all catering and special orders with FOH manager or Kitchen Manager Place BK orders through Flexi Place vendor orders Inventory product to meet all BOH food pars Ensure stewards have a plan for the day and night Skills for

Demonstrate an active passion for Flour and our mission Eager to learn Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement Ability to lift 50lbs Great sense of urgency and hospitality Demonstrates good personal hygiene Able to take feedback and direction Willingness to work as a team and help out however needed Dedicated to exceeding the expectations of the customers Attention to detail Excellent attendance, reliability, communication and interpersonal skills Readily adaptable to change Embraces new information and learns quickly Actively problem solves using sound judgment Effective time management skills Keeps a calm and composed demeanor all the time
Compensation:
This position has an average starting compensation of $18
  • 20 per hour ($18 per hour + a shared percentage of sales known as the BOH appreciation, which on average adds around $2 per hour). The starting pay rate for this position is $18, the total pay range is $15
