Job Description

Pearl's Too is seeking a dependable, organized, and caring Kitchen Staff to join our team in Waldorf, MD. This position primarily involves plating and serving prepared meals , maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen, and carefully following children's allergy and dietary requirements. Occasional light cooking of simple items, such as chicken nuggets, fries, or similar foods, may be required. During downtime between meal services, this team member will assist in classrooms as needed. Responsibilities Plate, portion, and distribute breakfast, lunch, and snacks Occasionally prepare simple food items such as chicken nuggets, fries, or similar items Carefully review and follow all food allergy, dietary restriction, and milk-alternative lists Ensure each child receives the correct meal and approved substitutions Follow proper food-handling and food-safety procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen Wash dishes and clean/sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and meal-service areas Organize and properly store food and kitchen supplies Follow CACFP requirements and complete meal-service documentation as assigned Float into classrooms between kitchen duties to assist teachers Help supervise and engage children when assigned to a classroom Assist with maintaining appropriate staff-to-child ratios Follow classroom routines and directions from Lead Teachers and center leadership Be flexible and willing to support other areas of the center as needed Qualifications ServSafe certification preferred Previous childcare, kitchen, food-service, school, or similar experience preferred Basic ability to safely prepare simple food items Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and allergy precautions preferred Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and detail-oriented Must be able to carefully follow allergy and dietary instructions Comfortable working with and assisting young children Must be flexible and able to transition between kitchen and classroom responsibilities Must meet applicable Maryland childcare background and employment requirements
