Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Kitchen Worker plays a vital role in supporting our culinary team by maintaining kitchen operations, preparing ingredients, and ensuring cleanliness. This position is essential for the smooth functioning of our Japanese restaurant, helping to uphold our standards for food safety, efficiency, and quality.
Responsibilities:
Assist with basic food preparation, such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing sauces. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Stock and replenish kitchen supplies, including ingredients, utensils, and dishware. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a hygienic work environment. Support cooks by handling prep work, plating assistance, and running food to designated areas. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of ingredients. Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen supervisors or chefs.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Willingness to learn and follow instructions from chefs and supervisors. Ability to stand for extended periods. Must be available for flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
