In this role, you will support the kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring safety standards are upheld. Your proactive attitude and attention to detail will help deliver delicious meals and exceptional service to our guests. Duties Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques. Support cooking activities by preparing ingredients according to recipes and meal plans, ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, dishwashers, and other culinary tools. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen surfaces through regular cleaning and sanitizing practices. Help with food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, labeling, and inventory management in compliance with food safety regulations. Support meal service by setting up serving areas and assisting with plating or portioning as directed by culinary staff. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks, relay important information about orders or ingredients, and ensure smooth kitchen operations. Qualifications Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential. Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly valued. Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments. Strong knife skills with proper slicing techniques; familiarity with recipe adherence and meal preparation processes. Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members. Prior catering or food industry experience is a plus; a background in culinary arts or restaurant work can enhance your performance in this role.
